What it is
The Vaillant 103429 is an NTC thermistor sensor that mounts on the domestic hot water outlet pipe. It supplies the boiler control system with a temperature reading from the DHW circuit so the appliance can regulate hot water delivery. It is used across the Vaillant ecoTEC Plus, ecoTEC Exclusive and VUW/VUI appliance families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water temperature fluctuates or drifts away from the set point
- Hot water runs cold intermittently during a draw-off
- The boiler fails to modulate correctly in DHW mode
- A DHW sensor fault is indicated by the appliance diagnostics
- The sensor reading does not change as the outlet pipe warms
