What it is
The Vaillant 101819 is a thermostat used on Vaillant Vantage and Unistor Vantage hot water cylinders. It controls the cylinder's stored water temperature by switching the heat source on and off as the set point is reached. It is a serviceable component within the cylinder's control arrangement.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Stored hot water runs hotter or cooler than the temperature set on the cylinder control
- The cylinder overheats, or the high limit device trips repeatedly
- Hot water temperature swings widely between draws
- The boiler or heat source does not respond when the cylinder calls for heat
- Adjusting the cylinder temperature setting has no effect on the water temperature
