What it is
The Johnson & Starley ignition electrode (part 1000-0709655) is a spark electrode that lights the burner in Reno series boilers. It is supplied with a gasket and two screws for refitting.

- Boiler fails to light or locks out during the ignition sequence
- No spark at the electrode when the boiler calls for heat
- Repeated lockouts that clear after a reset
- Cracking, sooting or erosion visible on the electrode tip
- Damaged ceramic insulator or tracking marks
