What it is

The Johnson & Starley thermocouple (part number 1000-0703265) is a safety component used in Brink series gas boilers. It generates a small electrical current when heated by the pilot flame, which holds the gas valve open. If the flame goes out, the thermocouple cools and the gas supply is shut off.
