What it is

The pilot injector is a Johnson & Starley burner component that meters gas to the pilot flame on Hispec and Jb25PB warm air units. It is manufactured to SIT No.15 specification and forms part of the pilot assembly within the burner. Its role is to deliver a stable, correctly sized pilot flame for ignition of the main burner.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The pilot flame fails to light or will not stay alight after ignition.
  • The pilot flame is weak, unstable or visibly smaller than it should be.
  • The pilot flame burns yellow or produces sooting around the pilot assembly.
  • The pilot flame lifts off the burner or extinguishes intermittently.
  • Repeated lockouts on start-up that trace back to a poor pilot flame.
