What it is
The Johnson & Starley 1000-0702030 is a thermocouple used across a range of Johnson & Starley water heaters, warm air units and boilers. It sits in the pilot flame assembly and generates the small voltage that holds the gas valve open while a flame is proven. If the thermocouple stops producing that signal, the pilot will not stay lit and the appliance will not run.
