What it is
The fan and limit thermostat (non ET) is a Johnson & Starley control component used on Hispec warm air units. It monitors appliance temperature and controls fan operation, switching the fan on and off in line with the heat demand and acting as a limit safeguard. It is supplied as a non ET variant, so it is not fitted with the ET sensing element used on other versions.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The fan fails to start when the appliance reaches temperature, or runs continuously.
- The appliance locks out or shuts down before reaching its normal operating temperature.
- Erratic fan cycling, with the fan cutting in and out at short intervals.
