What it is

An anti-surge (T) fuse rated at 6.3 A, produced by Johnson & Starley for its Ju-series appliances. It protects the appliance's electrical circuit, tolerating brief inrush currents while still breaking the circuit under sustained fault conditions. It is fitted to the Ju117, Ju156 and Ju78.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Appliance is completely dead — no display, fan or ignition
  • Fuse fails a continuity test or reads open circuit
  • Visible blown element, blackening or clouding inside the fuse body
  • A replacement fuse blows again immediately, pointing to a circuit fault
