What it is
The TRIM - VIEWING APERTURE/SIGHT GLASS is a Main component that provides a viewing point through the appliance casing so the flame can be inspected during servicing. It is fitted to Severn 5 series appliances, where the trim holds and seats the sight glass at the combustion viewing aperture.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The glass is discoloured, clouded or sooted so the flame cannot be viewed clearly
- Condensation or moisture is visible within the sight glass
- Cracks, crazing or chips are present in the glass
- The trim or its seating is damaged, allowing leakage at the aperture
