What it is

The CLIP - THERMOCOUPLE is a retaining clip for the thermocouple on Main gas appliances. It secures the thermocouple in its correct position so the flame sensing circuit reads reliably during operation. This clip is used across several Main boiler and heat generator models.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The thermocouple is loose in its mounting and will not stay seated
  • The clip is corroded, cracked or has lost its spring tension
  • The pilot or burner flame cuts out shortly after ignition because the thermocouple signal is interrupted
  • The clip has been lost or damaged during previous servicing

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model against the fit list above, as clip fitment varies between ranges
  • Inspect the existing clip and thermocouple mounting point for wear or corrosion
  • Cross-check the part number 10/12143 or 1012143 against the old component where markings are still legible
