What it is
The Alpha 1.8404 is a 1/8 inch pressure point supplied without a nut. It is a gas test nipple used on Alpha CD R series LPG boilers, providing a fixed point at which to connect a manometer or pressure gauge for combustion and gas inlet pressure checks.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Gas pressure readings cannot be taken because the test point will not seal against the gauge connection
- Visible weeping or a gas smell around the pressure point after testing
- Damaged, cross-threaded or rounded nipple preventing a sound instrument connection
- Corrosion or a scored sealing face on the point
