What it is

The Alpha 1.6572 is a 14.5mm diameter grommet used on Alpha gas boilers. It seats in the appliance casing or internal panel to seal around a pipe or cable entry, protecting the pipe from chafing against the metal edge and closing the opening against draughts and debris. It is a small consumable part that hardens and perishes with heat and age.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The grommet is split, cracked or visibly perished
  • The rubber has hardened and no longer grips the pipe or panel
  • The grommet has come out of its hole and will not stay seated
  • There is an open gap around the pipe entry where the grommet should seal
  • The pipe shows signs of chafing or rubbing at the panel edge
