What it is
The Alpha 1.1342 is a flat washer gasket measuring 34mm outer diameter, 27mm inner diameter and 2mm thick. It is fitted to Alpha gas boilers and solar thermal cylinders to seal a joint between mating faces. The Flexoid gasket material compresses under load to close the gap and prevent water escaping.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the joint the washer seals
- Limescale trails, damp staining or corrosion around the mating faces
- The washer has flattened, hardened or cracked with age
- System pressure drops or water loss traced to the joint
- The washer is deformed or torn after being disturbed during other work
