What it is
The Alpha telescopic joint seal seals a sliding (telescopic) pipe joint within the boiler, allowing for movement while maintaining the seal. It is a genuine Alpha part, number 1.035909.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water, gas or condensate weeping from the joint the gasket seals
- The gasket is visibly perished, flattened, cracked or has hardened with age
- The boiler fails a tightness or leak check at the joint
Before you order
- Match the gasket's dimensions against the one removed from your boiler
- Isolate the relevant supply before removing the joint it seals
- This may be gas-related work; where it is, use a Gas Safe registered engineer
