What it is

The Alpha NTC fast immersion probe is a flue thermostat sensor used on Alpha Commercial PRO TEC 50 and PRO TEC PLUS 50 LPG appliances. It uses an NTC thermistor element on an immersion probe body to sense flue temperature and feed that reading back to the boiler control. The probe responds quickly to changes in flue temperature, allowing the control to monitor and protect the appliance during operation.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance locks out or shuts down on a flue temperature fault.
  • Flue temperature readings are erratic, implausible or drift against expected values.
  • The boiler trips intermittently during a firing cycle with no other obvious cause.
  • The probe insulation or lead shows heat damage, cracking or contamination.
