What it is

The Alpha fan assembly 1.029719 is the combustion air fan used across the Alpha InTec, CDS, CD, CDX and InTec ErP boiler ranges. It draws fresh air into the combustion chamber to support correct gas combustion and then pushes the burnt gases out through the flue at the end of the cycle. The boiler's safety interlock prevents gas reaching the main burner whenever the fan is not running correctly, so a failed fan stops the appliance firing.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler locks out or fails to ignite, with a fan or air pressure fault code shown
  • Grinding, scraping or whining noise from the fan area on start-up
  • Fan runs intermittently or not at all when the boiler is called for heat
  • Repeated lockouts after resetting, particularly in cold weather
  • Visible damage, stiffness or debris around the impellor when the fan is inspected
