What it is
The Alpha automatic air vent is a pressure safety device fitted inside the central heating unit. It releases trapped air from the system using buoyancy, allowing air to escape while the vent closes against water. This is the vent assembly supplied under Alpha part number 1.027110 and is used across the Alpha ECO and ECO 2 boiler families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Radiators need bleeding repeatedly, with air returning to the system shortly after
- Boiler or pipework becomes noisy, with kettling or gurgling as air circulates
- The pump runs noisily or the system suffers recurring air locks
- Water weeps or drips from the vent body or its cap
- The vent cap no longer seals or the float mechanism fails to close

- Confirm the existing vent is marked with part number 1.027110 or one of the alternative numbers listed
- Inspect the sealing washer or O-ring at the vent connection and replace it if it is compressed or perished
