It closes off the front of the combustion chamber, forming the boundary between the heat exchanger area and the surrounding casing. It is used across selected Alpha CD and InTEC models.

- Soot staining or tracking around the cover edges
- Damaged or deteriorated sealing face where the cover meets the combustion chamber
- The cover cannot be refitted securely after servicing
