What it is

The Alpha 1.022442 is an EPDM O-ring measuring 17.17mm x 1.78mm, used on the condensate manifold of Alpha HE and He boiler models. It seals the manifold joint against condensate weepage. EPDM is specified here for resistance to the mildly acidic condensate produced during combustion.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water or condensate weeping from the condensate manifold joint
  • Visible cracking, splitting or perishing of the O-ring
  • The O-ring has flattened or hardened and no longer seals under compression
  • White or chalky staining around the manifold indicating a long-standing weep
  • The O-ring is damaged or missing after manifold removal and refitting
