What it is
This is a gas valve carrying the SIT reference 0.848.130, supplied as the Alpha spare part 1.018472. It is the valve that regulates and controls the gas supply to the burner on Alpha Commercial PRO TEC and Protec NX appliances. It sits in the gas train between the incoming supply and the burner assembly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner fails to light and no gas is delivered when the appliance calls for heat
- The appliance ignites and then locks out shortly afterwards
- The flame drops out at low demand or the valve will not hold a steady setting
- The valve does not open or close cleanly, or the operator can be heard operating without gas passing
- Intermittent ignition faults that trace back to the gas train rather than the ignition components
