What it is
The Alpha 1.018031 is a 100°C overheat thermostat for Alpha CD series gas boilers. It is a safety cut-out that shuts down the burner if the boiler's water temperature exceeds the set limit.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out repeatedly, particularly after running for a period
- Overheat cut-out trips and needs manual resetting
- Boiler fires briefly then shuts down before reaching temperature
- Fault code or lockout indicating an overheat condition
- No heating or hot water following an overheat trip
