What it is
The Alpha 1.016779 is an ignition electrode for Alpha CD series gas boilers. It delivers the high-voltage spark that lights the burner when the boiler receives a call for heat. It is a serviceable part, replaced when the spark path fails or the electrode tip becomes damaged.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to ignite and locks out repeatedly
- No spark is visible at the burner during an ignition attempt
- The ignition circuit clicks audibly but no flame is established
- The electrode tip shows erosion, cracking, or heavy carbon build-up
- The ceramic insulator is cracked or the lead connection is loose
