What it is
The FITTING - CYLINDER TEMPERATURE SENSOR is a thermistor supplied by Alpha for its gas boiler range. It reads cylinder temperature and passes that signal to the boiler's control system so domestic hot water is regulated against the set point. It is listed under gas boiler spares and is intended for the LPG variants of the CB50 and CD50.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water runs consistently hotter or cooler than the temperature set on the control
- The boiler cycles on and off repeatedly while hot water is being drawn
- Delivered hot water temperature swings between draw-offs
- The boiler control indicates a temperature sensor fault
- The cylinder store does not reach its target temperature
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance is the LPG variant of the CB50 or CD50
- Compare the part number on the existing sensor with 1.012668 where it is legible
- Check whether the fault lies with the sensor itself rather than the wiring or the cylinder thermostat
