What it is
The Alpha flue overheat thermostat 1.012067 is a safety cut-out device used across the Alpha CD range of gas boilers. It carries an in-built sensor that continuously monitors the temperature within the appliance, and when the maximum safe temperature is reached the stat stops the appliance operating until temperatures fall back to a safe level. It is a direct replacement item for the flue overheat protection circuit on the listed models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out repeatedly and requires manual resetting
- The appliance shuts down shortly after ignition with no other obvious fault
- Overheat trips occur even when the flue and heat exchanger have been checked
- The thermostat shows no continuity when tested, or reads open circuit at ambient temperature
- Intermittent shutdowns that clear once the appliance has cooled
