What it is
The VK4115V is a gas valve manufactured by Alpha for use in its CD-series domestic boilers. It is a gas distribution device: when the burner requires more gas, the printed circuit board sends a signal to the valve, which opens and allows gas to pass through to the burner or the pilot assembly. It sits on the gas train between the supply and the combustion components, so correct operation is essential to safe ignition and modulation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to ignite even though the PCB is calling for heat
- No gas reaches the burner or pilot assembly when the valve is energised
- Intermittent lockouts or flame-failure faults that clear and return
- Unstable or weak flame at the burner after ignition
- Audible clicking from the valve without any corresponding gas flow
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list, as this valve covers a number of CD-series variants
- Check the existing valve designation and part number on the boiler before ordering
- Inspect the valve sealing washers and connections at the same time, as these are disturbed during replacement
- This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
