Ideal Edge Seal Silicon Rubber 084812

The Ideal 084812 is an edge seal manufactured from silicon rubber, supplied as a single item. It forms part of the gasket, seal and O-ring range for Ideal Commercial Concord CX series 3 appliances, where it seals the edge joint between mating components and prevents leakage of flue gases, condensate or water at that face. Silicon rubber is chosen for this position because it holds its shape across the temperature swings a commercial boiler casing and heat exchanger assembly sees in normal service.

• Visible water or condensate tracking around the seal face or staining on the surrounding casing
• A weeping joint that reappears after the fasteners have been re-torqued
• The rubber has hardened, flattened or cracked, so it no longer springs back when compressed
• Soot or flue gas marks at the edge joint, indicating the seal is no longer gas-tight
• The seal has been disturbed during a strip-down and will not seat cleanly on reassembly
