Vaillant 084138 Hose complete VC / VCW 166-256, 195-255

The Vaillant 084138 is a complete hose assembly for Vaillant VC and VCW appliances in the 166-256 and 195-255 ranges. It is supplied as a finished hose rather than a length of tube, so it can be fitted directly in place of the original once the old one is removed. Vaillant lists the part under standard water heaters, and it sits within the internal water circuit of the appliance. Hoses of this type are normally replaced when the original has hardened, split or begun to weep at the connections.

• Water weeping or dripping from the hose body or at either connection
• Cracking, hardening or perishing of the hose material, often visible as a dull, crazed surface
• Water staining, scale or corrosion around the hose ends
• Kinks, bulges or flat spots in the hose that restrict flow
• System pressure dropping with no other obvious source of loss

• Confirm the appliance model and part number from the data badge, as VC and VCW variants use different internal layouts.
• Work on gas appliances must be carried out by a qualified specialist.
• Inspect the connection seals and washers while the hose is off and replace them if they are worn.
• Have the appliance GC number to hand when checking the parts list.
