What it is
The Ideal 079858 is a site glass circlip — the small retaining clip that secures the sight glass into its housing on an Ideal Commercial appliance. The sight glass lets an engineer inspect the flame and combustion chamber without opening the casing, and the circlip holds that glass firmly in position against its seating. Without a sound clip the glass can work loose, so the assembly no longer seals or sits square.
