What it is
The Ideal Mexico 2 V4600 A1130 gas valve assembly, part number 079756, is a gas distribution device fitted to Ideal Mexico 2 conventional floor-standing boilers. When the burner needs more gas, the PCB sends a signal to the valve, which opens to let gas pass through to the burner or to the pilot assembly, depending on the appliance and the stage of the ignition sequence. It is supplied by Ideal as the replacement valve for these models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner fails to light, or lights and then drops out shortly afterwards
- The pilot will not stay lit on appliances using a pilot assembly
- The boiler locks out soon after a demand for heat, with the PCB calling for gas
- No gas pressure is measured at the burner despite a confirmed signal from the PCB
- Repeated ignition attempts, an unstable flame, or intermittent running that points to a sticking or blocked valve
