What it is

The Ideal 079450 is a venturi assembly supplied for Ideal Commercial boiler ranges. It sits in the gas and air train ahead of the burner, where the shaped throat creates the pressure differential that draws air in and holds the gas/air mixture at the ratio the appliance was set up to run. Because it directly influences combustion, a worn or contaminated venturi shows up as unstable firing rather than as an obvious leak.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Combustion readings drift outside the tolerance band and cannot be brought back by adjustment alone.
  • The burner lights but the flame is unstable, lifts or produces a rough, uneven pattern.
  • Repeated lockouts or flame-failure faults shortly after ignition.
  • Audible popping, roaring or a change in the note of the burner during firing.
  • Visible debris, corrosion or distortion inside the venturi throat when the gas train is opened for inspection.

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list, as the same venturi body is used across several Super Plus variants.
  • Check the existing part against the alternative number 1174930 before ordering, in case an earlier assembly is fitted.
  • Inspect the joint seals and gaskets on the gas and air path while the assembly is removed and renew them if they are compressed or damaged.
