What it is
The Ideal 078837 is a set of four M12 x 931 mm tie rods for Ideal Commercial Concord cast-iron sectional boilers. The rods pass through the boiler sections and, once tensioned, clamp the section assembly together against the operating pressure of the appliance. Ideal supplies them as a matched set for the Concord CXDI, CXSI and CXi ranges.

- Visible corrosion, pitting or thinning along the rod shanks
- Water weeping or rust staining around the section joints
- Rods that will not hold torque or have visibly stretched
- Section joint gaskets leaking under pressure
- Difficulty re-tensioning the section assembly during a rebuild
