What it is
The Ideal 069961 is a ribbon cable supplied as a packaged wiring harness for Ideal Commercial Concord series boilers. It carries the low-voltage signal and control connections between the main printed circuit board and the display or user interface panel. Ribbon cables of this type are flat, multi-core assemblies that sit inside the control housing and are routed behind the fascia.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The display or user interface panel is blank, flickering or showing partial characters while the boiler otherwise runs.
- Fault codes relating to communication between the control board and the display appear intermittently.
- The boiler locks out or resets at random, particularly after the casing has been disturbed or the control panel moved.
- The ribbon shows visible damage: cracked insulation, a creased or crushed section, scorching, or exposed conductors at the connector ends.
- Buttons on the fascia respond erratically or not at all despite the board being powered.

- Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the compatibility list, as the Concord CXC, CXD and CXSI ranges use several different harness variants.

- Isolate the electrical supply at the spur before removing the control housing or unplugging the existing cable.
