What it is
The Ideal 065859 is a 2 1/2 inch plug supplied for Ideal commercial boiler appliances. It is a blanking plug that closes off a threaded port or opening on the appliance, keeping the water circuit sealed at that point. It belongs to the Ideal Commercial Boiler Spares range and is listed against the Harrier ES and Buccaneer families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible weeping or a steady drip from the plugged port on the appliance body
- Water tracking or staining around the plug seating, often with scale or corrosion deposits
- Loss of system pressure that cannot be traced to another joint or component
- The plug seating damaged, cross-threaded or seized after removal of adjacent pipework
- Corrosion or pitting on the plug face where it meets the appliance casting
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and, where available, the serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Check the previous number 80130028 against the part currently fitted to the appliance
- Inspect the port seating and any sealing washer or jointing material at the same time, as these may need renewing with the plug
- Confirm the thread size and condition of the port, since a damaged thread will not seal with a replacement plug alone
