What it is

The Saunier Duval 05631800 is a combustion fan used on Ecosy gas boilers. It draws flue gases through the heat exchanger and pushes them to the flue outlet, maintaining the correct draught across the appliance. The fan is driven by the boiler's control board and its operation is monitored as part of the boiler's safety sequence.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The fan is noisy in operation, with rumbling, scraping or bearing whine
  • The fan does not spin up when the boiler starts its ignition sequence
  • The boiler locks out or fails to fire, with the fan proving the fault
  • Intermittent running or the fan cutting out part way through a cycle
  • Visible damage, contamination or stiffness when the impeller is turned by hand

Before you order

  • Confirm your boiler model against the fitment list above
  • Check the serial number on the appliance data badge where a serial-dependent fitment is listed
  • Compare the part number on the existing fan with 05631800 before ordering
  • If in doubt, check your model against the manufacturer's parts list
