Vaillant 053574 Gas section

The Vaillant 053574 Gas Section is a replacement gas-carrying component for Vaillant gas appliances, including standard water heaters. It forms part of the gas train and governs the flow of gas through to the burner, so the appliance lights correctly and holds a stable flame through the heating cycle.

The part is supplied by Vaillant as a service spare and is listed under the spare part type Gas Valves. It is a gas-carrying item, so any work involving it falls within the scope of gas safety regulations.

• The appliance fails to light, or lights and then cuts out within a short time.
• The flame is weak, unstable or yellow instead of a steady blue.
• The gas valve does not open when there is a call for heat or hot water.
• Operation is intermittent, with the burner dropping out part-way through a cycle.
• Soot deposits, discolouration or a smell of gas around the gas train — isolate the supply and call a Gas Safe registered engineer.

• This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
• Confirm that part number 053574 matches the number shown on the appliance data badge or in the manufacturer's parts list.
• Check the appliance model and serial number before ordering, as gas sections vary between appliance families.
• Check whether the joint seals at the gas section need renewing when the component is removed.
