What it is

The Vaillant 053473 is a gas section supplied with a Honeywell VK4115M2039 gas valve. It forms part of the gas train on the appliance, controlling the flow of gas to the burner so that ignition, modulation and shutdown happen as the control board demands. The assembly is set up for H-Gas (natural gas) operation and is supplied by Vaillant as a service replacement component.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The burner fails to light, or lights and then drops out shortly after ignition.
  • Flame is weak, unstable or uneven across the burner, with poor modulation at low demand.
  • The appliance locks out repeatedly and requires resetting, often with a gas-related fault code logged.
  • Gas is heard passing when there is no call for heat, or the valve does not shut down cleanly at the end of a cycle.
  • Soot deposits, a yellow lazy flame or a smell of gas around the appliance.

Before you order

  • Match the part number 053473 and the Honeywell VK4115M2039 valve reference against the data plate and the existing valve on the appliance.
  • Confirm the appliance is set for H-Gas, as this section is not intended for LPG operation.
  • Check whether the gas train joint seals or gaskets on your appliance need renewing at the same time, as these are not supplied with the section.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
