Ideal Thermocouple 900mm 030032

The Ideal 030032 is a 900mm thermocouple used on Ideal commercial gas appliances, principally the Concord C140 and C170 ranges. A thermocouple is formed from two dissimilar metals that generate a small electrical charge when the tip is heated by a pilot flame. That charge energises an electromagnet in the gas valve, which holds the valve open and lets gas pass to the burner.

If the thermocouple stops producing that signal, the valve closes and the appliance will not run, so the part sits directly in the safety chain of the pilot and ignition circuit.

• The pilot flame lights but goes out as soon as the control knob is released.
• The appliance repeatedly locks out or fails to establish a flame during the ignition sequence.
• The burner will not light even though the pilot appears to be burning steadily.
• The pilot flame is weak or unstable and the appliance cuts out shortly after start-up.
• Intermittent shutdowns on a Concord appliance that trace back to the pilot proving circuit rather than the gas supply.

• Confirm the existing thermocouple length and connection match the 900mm unit before fitting.
