What it is

The Vaillant 023902 pilot burner tube, CPL., is a complete pilot burner tube assembly used in Vaillant gas appliances. It forms part of the pilot ignition circuit, carrying the pilot gas supply to the burner head where the standing flame is maintained. It is listed under pilot burners within the gas boiler spares range.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The pilot flame fails to light or will not stay lit after the burner has been released
  • A weak, yellow or lazy pilot flame instead of a steady blue flame
  • The flame lifts off the burner head or does not reach the thermocouple or flame sensing probe
  • Visible sooting, carbon build-up or blockage around the pilot burner head
  • Cracks, corrosion or deformation on the pilot tube itself

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model matches one of the fitments listed above
  • Check the existing pilot burner assembly and note any damage to the tube, head or connections
  • Verify the part number 023902 against the marking on the component being replaced
  • Inspect the pilot injector and electrode condition, as these are often serviced at the same time
