What it is
The Vaillant 012975 is a water quantity limiter rated at 8.1 litres per minute. It is fitted in the domestic hot water circuit of Vaillant combi boilers, where it regulates the flow rate of water passing through the appliance. Controlling this flow keeps the boiler within its designed operating window for hot water delivery.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water flow noticeably lower than the rated 8.1 litres per minute
- Hot water temperature fluctuating or cycling during draw-off
- Scale or debris build-up restricting the limiter orifice
- Water weeping or dripping from the limiter body or its seals
- Boiler failing to hold a stable hot water output at the tap
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and variant against the fitment list above
- Check the flow rate marked on the existing limiter matches 8.1 litres per minute
- Inspect the surrounding pipework and seals for scale or damage before fitting
- Verify the boiler's GC number where the model variant is unclear

Fitment listings are a guide, not a guarantee. Plant-room assemblies get modified on site more often than not. Send us the GC number off the data badge and a photo of the existing valve and we will confirm before anything is dispatched.
