What it is

The Vaillant 011504 is a condense trap, the component fitted on the condensate path of a condensing boiler. It collects the acidic water produced as flue gases cool, holds a water seal that prevents combustion gases escaping into the room, and discharges the condensate to the drainage system.

It is supplied by Vaillant as a replacement part for their condensing appliance range. The trap is a serviceable item: once the seal is lost, cracked or blocked with scale and debris, condensate can back up or leak, so the trap is replaced rather than repaired.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water pooling or damp patches beneath the boiler or around the condensate pipework.
  • Condensate overflowing from the trap, dripping from the casing or staining the wall.
  • Boiler locking out or displaying a fault code linked to condensate removal.
  • Gurgling, bubbling or slurping noises from the condensate route during operation.
  • Cracks, heavy scale build-up or discolouration visible on the trap body or its connections.

Before you order

  • Check the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility information for your boiler.
  • Confirm the part number on the existing trap matches 011504 before ordering.
  • Inspect the condensate pipework, seals and connections while the trap is removed, and replace any perished seals at the same time.
  • Allow the appliance to cool and isolate it before working on the condensate path.
