What it is
The Charnwood 009/SLX45/A is a replacement firebox and boiler assembly, supplied by Charnwood as a complete unit for the SLX45 appliance. It forms the combustion and water-heating section of the appliance, sitting at the centre of the firebox where heat is transferred to the water circuit. It is listed in the fire spares category as a major assembly rather than a consumable item.
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and that the existing firebox/boiler assembly carries the reference 009/SLX45/A.
- Check the appliance data plate and any manufacturer documentation for the correct assembly for the installation.
- This is a major component, so plan for installation by a competent heating engineer familiar with solid fuel and boiler appliances.
- Verify the current assembly is actually at fault before ordering, as removal and refitting involve draining and reconnecting the water circuit.
