What it is
The Ideal 004590 is a pilot injector that meters the gas supply to the pilot burner on a range of Ideal domestic and commercial appliances. It sits in the pilot burner assembly and controls the small standing flame that lights the main burner when there is a call for heat. The part is used across the Ideal Mexico Super 2, Mexico Super 3 and Concord CX Series 3 families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The pilot flame will not light, or lights only weakly and will not hold.
- The pilot flame burns yellow or lifts away from the burner, with sooting around the pilot assembly.
- The appliance locks out repeatedly, or the pilot extinguishes shortly after the main burner fires.
- The injector orifice is restricted by debris, oxide or carbon build-up, reducing gas flow to the pilot.
- Visible damage, distortion or wear at the injector orifice.
