What it is

The Vaillant 0020278358 cap kit is a set of blanking caps in four pipe sizes — 1/2, 1/4, 3/8 and 5/8 — for use on Vaillant Arotherm 5/5 AS 230V S2 heat pumps. The caps close off or seal unused pipe connections on the appliance. This kit is listed by Vaillant under part number 0020278358.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible cracking, splitting or deformation of a cap
  • Weeping or dripping from a capped pipe connection
  • Corrosion or scale build-up on the cap
  • A cap that has worked loose and no longer seals
  • A missing cap leaving an open connection

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model matches one of the Arotherm 5/5 AS 230V S2 variants listed above.
  • Check which pipe size you need — the kit covers 1/2, 1/4, 3/8 and 5/8.
  • Inspect the connection the cap fits; damaged threads or pipe ends may need attention first.
