What it is

The Vaillant 0020272050 is a combustion chamber cover plate used on Vaillant ecoTEC VU GB 1006/5-5 and 1206/5-5 open-vent boilers. It closes the burner chamber, sealing the combustion area from the surrounding casing and helping to contain the burner and heat exchanger assembly. The part is listed for 100 kW applications within the ecoTEC+ range.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible corrosion, pitting or rust staining on the cover plate surface
  • Distortion or warping from prolonged heat exposure
  • Soot deposits or discolouration around the chamber edges
  • Damaged or deteriorated sealing faces where the cover meets the chamber
  • Evidence of combustion products escaping past the cover

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above
  • Check whether the appliance is an R2 or R3 revision, as both are listed
  • Verify the part number 0020272050 on the existing cover before removal
  • Check whether any gasket or seal for the cover is required separately, as it is not confirmed as included
