What it is
The Vaillant pump connection (part number 0020268772) is a pipework fitting that links the circulation pump to the appliance's hydraulic assembly. It is used on Vaillant Ecotec VU 446/5-5 and VU 606/5-5 open-vented heat-only units. Its role is to carry system water between the pump and the rest of the boiler's water circuit while maintaining a sealed joint.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible weeping or a damp trace around the pump connection joint
- Corrosion or pitting on the connection body or its sealing face
- Scale or debris build-up restricting flow through the connection
- Water loss or falling system pressure traced to the pump area
- Whistling or gurgling at the pump caused by air being drawn in at a failed joint
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model against the fit list above
- Check the GC number on the appliance data badge matches the unit being worked on
- Inspect the pump and surrounding pipework to confirm the connection is the failed component
- Check whether any seals or washers at the joint are reusable before starting the repair
