What it is

The Vaillant 0020268765 is a gas control valve used on Vaillant gas boilers. It regulates the flow of gas to the burner under the boiler's electronic control, so the appliance can modulate and shut off safely. It is listed for the VU 606/5-5 appliance family.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler fails to ignite or drops out shortly after ignition.
  • Repeated lockouts with no other fault code pointing elsewhere.
  • Gas valve fails to modulate, so the boiler runs at a fixed rate or cycles.
  • Audible clicking, buzzing or whistling from the valve body.
  • No gas pressure at the burner despite correct inlet supply and a proven ignition sequence.

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the fit list above.
  • Check the part number printed on the existing valve matches 0020268765.
  • Gas-carrying components must be fitted and commissioned by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
  • Verify no other fault, such as flame detection or ignition, is causing the symptoms before replacing the valve.
