What it is

The Vaillant 0020252804 is a heat exchanger supplied as a gas boiler spare. It transfers heat from the combustion circuit into the heating and hot water circuits on the R6 generation of Vaillant appliances listed below. It is a serviceable component, fitted when the existing exchanger is leaking, restricted or otherwise beyond repair.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or staining around the heat exchanger body or its connections
  • Repeated loss of system pressure with no visible external leak elsewhere
  • Kettling, banging or rumbling noises from the appliance during heating
  • Overheating or the boiler locking out on a high-limit fault
  • Reduced hot water output or poor heat transfer across the circuit

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the fit list above
  • Check the existing heat exchanger part number matches 0020252804
  • Confirm the appliance is the R6 variant, as fitment differs across generations
  • Allow for a full strip-down and recommissioning by a competent gas engineer
