What it is
The Vaillant 0020242593 is a yellow gas coding plug used across the Ecotec Exclusive and Arotherm appliance families. It sits in the boiler or heat pump control circuit and signals the gas type and appliance configuration to the control board. The colour coding identifies the setting it applies, so the correct plug must be fitted for the appliance and gas supply in use.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The appliance does not recognise the fitted gas type after commissioning or conversion
- Fault codes relating to gas type or configuration appear on the control display
- The existing coding plug is missing, loose in its socket, or has damaged pins
- The plug has been swapped or removed during service and the correct coding is no longer fitted
- Intermittent ignition or modulation faults traced to an incorrect coding setting
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the fit list above
- Check the colour coding of the plug currently fitted, as the coding must match the appliance and gas type
- Inspect the plug socket on the control board for damage before fitting a replacement
- Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the correct coding plug for the installation
