What it is
The Vaillant 0020242592 is a grey coding plug used to configure the appliance for LPG operation. It fits into the coding socket on the appliance's control or gas valve assembly, where the plug's coding tells the boiler which gas type it is set up for. It is listed for Vaillant Ecotec Exclusive and Arotherm models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The appliance is being commissioned or converted for LPG and the existing coding does not match the gas type
- Combustion readings sit outside the expected range for the gas supply in use
- Gas type or configuration faults appear during commissioning or servicing
- The coding plug is missing from its socket, loose, or visibly damaged
- The plug has been swapped or removed and the correct grey LPG coding is no longer fitted
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model against the fitment list above
- Check the existing coding plug colour and coding, as this part is grey and specified for LPG
- Verify the gas type the appliance is commissioned for
- Refer to the manufacturer's installation and servicing instructions for plug location and fitting
