What it is
The Vaillant 0020236862 is a pressure relief valve supplied in the 2 inch version. It is fitted to Vaillant unvented cylinder appliances, where it opens to discharge water if system pressure exceeds the set limit, protecting the cylinder and associated pipework from over-pressurisation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water continually weeping or discharging from the valve outlet when the system is at normal operating pressure.
- The valve fails to reseat and close after it has operated, leaving a constant drip from the discharge pipe.
- System pressure will not hold and drops repeatedly, or rises beyond the normal range on the gauge.
- Scale or debris visible around the valve seat, or the valve body shows corrosion or damage.
- The valve cannot be operated manually, or feels stiff and does not return to the closed position.
